Ethan's and PaPa's birthday celebrations

Both Ethan and PaPa's birthdays were only 1 month apart and we had our fair share of their favorite food for the past few weeks :)

Mummy's birthday 2017

We celebrated my birthday in 2 events,  firstly having dim sum on a Saturday prior to the actual day.  We had it at Peony Jade Keppel Club and the dim sum buffet was delightful. Ethan didn't eat much of the dim sum as usual but he had a fair share of their delicious fried rice. Needless to say,  3 of us had a super full lunch.

We were so hungry during the first round and forgot to take the steamed dim sum pictures.. Here's the fried selection we ordered

Braised duck wings for me as usual

So hard to snap a proper pic
After desserts which was so nice as well.. Lil Ethan was full of smiles

My actual birthday fell on a mid week,  and happened that it's my working day.  So we had decided to take dinner at Waterway Point since Caden has not completed his homework for the day and DTF can serve fast. Good dinner as usual and kids were happy since they get to play our phones in between.

I opted for small cake for pragmatic reasons

One of the gifts I wasn't expecting..  The last bouquet was given 16 years ago and the choice of flowers did not change after all these years 😂😂😂

Mummy's birthday celebration - July 2016

Ah lou took leave to accompany me on my big 4 birthday this year and he took the effort to get me a nice big breakfast in the morning.

As I am such a big fan of dim sum, we headed to change city point to grab lunch at Tung Lok Signatures so we could rush back home in time to pick up the kids from school at 1.

Given that it's only 2 of us,  I get to pick something that I really love since young..

This is my favorite childhood dish. The quality here didn't disappoint 😋

We ordered crispy noodles but the noodles looked weird.  In the end we couldn't finish this as the portion was too big for 2 of us.

Har kau here is not so good.

Although some dishes were disappointing, it was an enjoyable lunch, probably I get to eat in peace without the kids plus getting 100% attention from lou!  We even had some time left to shop around in the mall leisurely.

As Caden just recovered from stomach flu,  we opted to go DTF at night for dinner. The kids had a great time joking amongst themselves. And we ordered our usuals.

See the little head who managed to come into this pic!

I have termed this week as my birthday week so I get to play the 'queen' in the house given this privilege 😆

Time flies..  I have already spent more than half a lifetime to date.  I just wish that the remaining parts of my life will just be filled with happiness!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Caden's 11th birthday celebration

Caden turned 11 years old late last month and we brought him out for a Swenson's dinner at Waterway Point.

Given that it's a Thursday, we couldn't do much but to just have a nice dinner outside. It's also my first attempt to drive to the shopping mall and thankfully everything went so smoothly.

The boys as usual had some arguments amongst themselves and were not on good talking terms during dinner. Nonetheless, Caden is always happy when you put nice food right in front of him.. and on that day,  we saw so many other kids celebrating their birthdays in Swensons too!

His version of 'Topless 5' Ice cream
As Caden wanted to make a birthday wish out of a cake, he has asked for a mini one (cos we were all too full after dinner) to go through his favourite routine of the year:

And he managed to gobble up this mini cake in no time! what an appetite he has..

I wish my dear son good health and happiness always. And hopefully he gets more sensible and mature soon!

PaPa's 4x Birthday Celebration!

Another overdue post! We celebrated daddy's birthday in November and I decided to treat him Shabu Shabu buffet dinner on Friday to curb his craving..

Ethan was busy helping to put in the beef slices and also purposely using the container to hide his face..

Ethan still busy..

We decided to skip him.. hahaha

So hard to get Ethan to take a picture with us.. unless I make funny faces like him!
Managed to snap a shot of him in action

This year, we didn't get a cake for PaPa too because all of us were too full after the buffet dinner. We continued PaPa's birthday celebration with a Dim Sum lunch at Crystal Jade on Sunday (actually to curb mummy's craving!)

This lunch is better compared to Shabu Shabu.. maybe I am really not a meat person!

Ethan's 8th birthday celebration

This is an overdue post... had been kept so busy with school's stuff for the last 2 months..

Ethan turned 8 in October. He didn't want to have any mini-party we used to have with Brian's family this round, nor distributing goodie bags to his classmates. Somehow I think he likes to keep things in very low profile (just like us).

On the actual day, we brought him to Swenson's for dinner (it was my teaching day unfortunately so no activities after his lessons). The big highlight for him was their ice-cream! He specifically said that he didn't want any birthday cake too!

Some pictures as part of his 8th birthday celebration for his record..

The brother was more excited than Ethan who it comes to food.. he can be a very good poster boy!

Can't wait to dig in!

This is quite a quiet celebration for him =) Hopefully he'll remember this day next time!
