Caden's 4th Birthday

Caden turns 4 years old today. We skipped all the birthday party celebration, simply due to 1 single reason - lack of motivation to organise a party for him. We had planned to bring him out to the zoo in the morning but the night before, Mummy fell pretty sick with fever and cough so the plan has been switched to indoor activity instead.

Anyways, it was raining heavily in the morning, had Mummy been well, the zoo trip would have been cancelled. We had lunch at his favourite restuarant at Ding Tai Fung at Tampines Mall and he had a good time eating his fav Xiao Long Bao.

Then we proceeded to Downtown East for a bowling session! Ethan had a good time playing with all the balls that he saw at the bowling ground and Caden got a baby's 4 pounds bowling ball for his game. We first knew that if kids are playing bowling, the centre will lift up 2 metal panels at each side of the lane so that the ball will never get drop into the drain - since kids cannot and do not have the strength to ensure the ball rolls in the centre of the lane all the time.

Caden had a fun time at the proper bowling lane, and we also let the 2 children played the mini-bowl where a smaller ball is used and the bowling lane is shorter. Ethan then behaved very restless thereafter and we had to head home for his afternoon nap.

The day ended with a birthday cake from Swensens and Kimi and Samuel were happy that its made of ice-cream!

Auntie Wendy's birthday celebration

Mummy's friend, Wendy, celebrated her 3x birthday on Sat night at her place and most of the kids in the circle turned up for this gathering.

Ethan went with a full stomach as Mumy had fed him his usual porridge at home prior to this gathering. Hence, when he was there, he started mingling with Rou xuan and both were later seen fighting with balloons at each other! Ethan wasn't showing any signs of shyness and mingled with the crowd. Caden, as usual, stuck with Mummy like superglue but he was pretty cooperative at Wendy's place, eating 2 bowls of fried rice and 4 non-spicy otah!

As Caden saw how Didi enjoyed himself, he also quickly got warmed up and played with the rest - Ryan, Kelly, Randy, RX.. all of them were then later asked to do quieter activities in the room with trains and tracks + story books.

Obviously, the best part of the night was cake-blowing! The kids crowd around the birthday cake table and admired the big strawberries which Auntie Huijuan bought. And happy when the candles were lit up + song singing. Auntie Wendy graciously shared the cake with Caden, knowing that his birthday was only 2 days after hers.

4 stitches

On Friday morning, Caden was running at the void deck downstairs with PaPa and failed to look in front as he ran. The frightful incident happened when he knocked into a corner of a wall pillar and got flew off a distance. This also resulted in a 2 cm cut and a 0.5cm depth on his forehead.

PaPa had to rush him to TMC in view that they probably have a good plastic surgeon to do the stitching. TMC actually rejected his case and referred us to KK hosipital. We waited for a long time at KK A&E dept and in the end, he was given 4 stitches for the wound. What a gift from PaPa before his 4th birthday!

This is the final pdt from KK doc.

Grandma on Japan trip

Mum has gone on her holiday to Japan for 10 days and the parents of the 4 kids have been taking turns last week and this week to babysit the children. Today is mine and I thought i would have a fair bit of problems since my 2 little boys love to cling on to me and cry more easily when I am around.

And that happened many times.

Nontheless, it is also a good chance for me to catch up with my kids at home with valid reasons + not logging on to my office network to work from home :)

Genting Trip

We embarked on our first overseas trip with our 2 little boys on Thurs. The prep work was minimal as we rode on PaPa's friend's lobang as Uncle Brian had planned to bring his family along too with his 2 other gambling frens.

We had to reach the tour agency at 7am in the morning and we got the kids up as early as 540am to prep them and catch a cab to beach road. We didn't have to wait for long as the bus left on time out to Genting at 730am. The kids were obviously very curious as there are TV terminals attached at each seat.
Ethan and Caden started the long 6 hours coach ride with the buns we brought along. Thereafter they started watching some cartoons available and Ethan got very restless. And we survived through the long bus ride with naps taken by them at some intervals. At one point, Mummy and Ethan almost got stranded somewhere middle of the highway as the coach left without us while PaPa was busy sleeping in his own seat. Luckily Uncle Brian was alert enough to notice and asked the bus driver to stop while Mummy and Ethan quickly boarded back the bus.

The first afternoon and evening was R&R with the kids exploring the place, resting in the hotel room and then ended with a 3hr session at the Arcade. Caden had a good time competing with Aidan on the shooting games and we only retired at 11pm. The nights were a torture for Mummy especially, as Ethan tossed and turned around in the bed often and she had to constantly feel for his head in complete darkness to ensure that Ethan didn't fall out from the end of the bed. Putting the 2 little rascals to bed at the same time was also a big challenge for PaPa and Mummy..
Having their own way of fun in the room and outside the room!

On the 2nd day, we bought a full day outdoor and indoor theme park access passes for all of us to ride through the stations. The weather was good but got erratic towards early afternoon with passing showers. The kids were tired again after going through most of the outdoor kiddy rides and rested in the hotel room at 330pm. The night then started with more rounds of rides at the indoor park and Caden had proven his courage with experiencing on all the car rides and even going through a few rounds of bumper car rides on his own. The first attempt of bumper car ride with Aidan was hilarous as Aidan was too afraid to step onto the peddle and Caden kept tapping on his partner's lap to get the car moving. As Caden was in charge of the steering wheel, the car got spinning in circles becos Aidan was only stepping the peddle at intervals. As Caden got so deprived from the first bumper car ride, subsequently, PaPa let him played in total another 5 more rounds before we retired for the night at 1130pm.

Last day was R&R since we need to check out at 12pm. We walked round the mall (nothing to shop actually) and bought some toys for them to bring back. And off we left Genting and return back to SG. The ride back home was easier as the kids slept 3 hours on the coach as we left town in the afternoon. The fortunate thing was that all of us did not get bus sick while some others of our group were vomiting badly at each stop.

Leaving Genting

I think it will be quite some time again before we pack our bags to visit another travel destination. These 3 days alone had both PaPa and Mummy's bones breaking for the next 2 days.
