Happy 22 months old!

Caden turns 22 mths old today. In just 2 mths time, he will be officially a 2yr old boy! These days, Caden is fond of pulling Mummy into the bedroom during night milk session so that Mummy can sing his favorite nursery rhythms. He will hold his milk bottle in one hand and turn the pages of the Mother Goose Nursey Rhythms book to 'dedicate' his songs. Mummy will then sing to his requests and sometime he will chuckle in delight as probably he thinks mummy's voice sounds too awful!! I am not sure through these sessions or the Zoophonics lessons which he has attended, he has learnt to sing the songs - but in his own unique version.

And when he's on the road, he will suddenly sing," row row row.. mary mary mary.. stream" as he still can't pronounce "merrily" well - it sounds like "mary". Sometimes he will also sing, "Baa, baa,.. sheep.. wool..Baa Baa sheep wool" This is his version of Baa Baa black sheep. We can see that he has learnt to enjoy his weekly zoophonics session well as he gets a chance to do lotsa of painting and sing-a-long session with lotsa actions - with PaPa's company - as mummy is too weak to perform such stunts with him in the classes nowadays..

His fulfilling week with us

Both Mummy and PaPa are on leave from Friday till tomorrow to spend more time with Caden as well as to extend the holiday mood from the earlier CNY holidays. Caden has been happy with our company as usual, and we have also spent the last 3 days, either at friend's place or hanging out in town and even taking MRT and LRT rides. As Mummy seems to always get busier and busier with work, she is now planning to devote at least spend one working day with our dear son every month in order not to deprive him of our company. With the new change in the working hierarchy structure, Mummy's work life will definitely be more demanding, however, Mummy will still try to make it a point to see Caden each night if there is a choice. Our attention on Caden will definitely be divided when we have a second child in the family. So for now, as far as possible, we will need to spend qualitative time with Caden.

Caden on his favorite car rides at Paragon - it costs $2 per ride!

After lunch at Vivocity's Marche, he was so amazed with the red cow.

Caden's shoes

Caden is fond of sitting down on the floor just outside our doorstep to take off his shoes each time he returns home, despite our pleads to get him into the house to take them off instead.

We soon realised why he does so, its because he wanted to place his shoes outside the house, just like how we have left our cheapo slippers outside our house too!

This is how he painstakingly arranged his shoes next to PaPa's pair.

Lion Dance

This Chinese New Year season, Caden has been exceptionally excited over the drum sounds played by the lion dance troupes. Each time, he hears the drums, he will pester one of us to carry him to the windows to watch the show.

Today, we are both on leave to run some errands in town. So happen that Paragon has invited a Lion Dance troupe to perform during the lunch hour. Caden caught the whole show at the front row and even ran to retrieve the sweets from the Lion's mouth as the troupe performed. It was quite an eye opener for him.

One of my favorite breakfast

We served the traditional kueh lapis to Caden for breakfast on this CNY period. We realised that he loves this as he can finish 2 servings of this bowl!

HongBaos

We have finally finished visiting the relatives that we have planned to cover over this CNY. Here's what ah boy has collected thus far, its not much, but least good enough to buy tons of barney VCDs to watch!

Friend's gathering on CNY Day 2

We went to PaPa's friend Uncle Alan's house on the second day of CNY. Aidan was there much earlier than us because we had to visit PaPa's Da Yi before the dinner gathering. Aidan was orignially clad in the traditional chinese costume by Auntie Winnie but becos the house was too warm, he was happily running ard in singlet. Caden was very very shy when we reached there. He kept burying his head in PaPa's chest when everyone came around to see him.. (as usual - he behaved the same every house we've been to thus far). It took him only a while later to open up when Mummy started feed him with food and Aidan coming around to play with him..

Caden sticking to either one of us like superglue

Brother Aidan playing with ah boy..

Aidan graciously posing for us to take a pic of him

We ended up very late last night becos we were playing blackjack with the gang. We had to leave halfway through the game becos it was already past Caden's sleeping hours - 11pm. Caden turned out to be very cranky back at home- possibly becos he was very tired, or his stuffy nose was irritating him. And he ended up vomiting in the toilet bowl through the crying.. after the drama, we spent a great deal of time washing up and coaxing him back to sleep...

CNY visiting

We set off our place to do some CNY visiting and Caden simply gets excited carrying the little red bag with 2 mandarin oranges (not sure if he sees them like how he sees his toy balls!). Finally this year, Caden is old enough to do some poses for Mummy to capture in the camera!

Mummy has not have a chance to take a good picture of Caden with Gong Gong although he has been at Hougang's house during this CNY period as GuGu's family is back in Penang. This is the one and only slot I have. Caden does not usually take the initiative to play with Gong Gong most of the time, he will only give him a big hug and a kiss when told to, or sometimes, called out Gong Gong loudly during meals when we sat down together at the dining table. But his relationship with GongGong is closely knitted as Gong gong is the one who usually brings him down to playground for fun!!

Reunion Dinner on CNY Eve

As usual, every year, we went to Grandma's house for reunion dinner cos Mummy's mummy has long left to the heavenly kingdom. Caden got warmed up quickly in the house as he has been spending the last 3 days there as Grandma wanted to move back to Hougang flat becos GuGu has gone back to Penang for the new year.

Gong Gong cannot wait to hear Caden to greet him and wanted to lure him through his red packet. But Caden is still not sensible yet to recognise this monetary reward and refused to do so until he got more warmed up with Gong Gong. Thereafter, his kisses to Gong Gong were generously as and when he was asked to.

This is the first year that Caden sat together with all of us during the steamboat dinner. Although his hands were out of reach to the hot pot, he was enjoying the food to his delight. He also had an enjoyable time playing with Cousin Emma with the toy bicycle and car as the 2 of them were competing on a race to and fro the living room.

Mummy got him a new pyjamas to wear for tonight.. here's his first set of pyjamas owned.

Mini Spring Cleaning

We spent the whole of Sunday at home to do some mini spring cleaning for CNY. PaPa does most of the work, cos Mummy was not feeling too well from the long hours spent at work in the week. So Mummy was tasked to take care of Caden, but he wanted so much to follow his PaPa in his own way..

Let me clean the floor first

Let's see if I can help to clean the windows next with this spray..

Our blog is finally up again

We have been experiencing problems logging into our blog lately because Blogger has migrated to Google mail account. Somehow our ID has been created with an invalid gmail account but anyway, Mummy found by chance a way to reaccess this link.. so here we are blogging again..

Signing up with Zoophonics

Mummy has long ago put Caden on the waiting list for a trial with the Zoophonics school at Thomson, finally she got a slot today to get Caden started with a weekend enrichment class after a long break from Kindermusik last Dec.. He was at first shy and seemed terrified with the piano and sing-a-long session with the teacher.. but subsequently opened himself up later in the class.. although his participative rate is not as high as Kindermusik, we decided to sign him up for a term(2.5mths) since the fees are reasonable.. Until we are able to get a slot with the playgroup at Tumbletots at our void deck, we'll probably continue to source for weekend classes for him so that he'll be used to social interaction with the rest of the tods at his age group..

A walk down Chinatown

We decided to bring Caden down to Chinatown on Saturday to let him soak into the upcoming Chinese New Year festival mood with the crowd who were there with the same purpose. Caden was intially shy and terrified with all the loud biddings that happened in the central square area, as we moved on to the small lanes, he began to enjoyed viewing the lightings and goodies displayed. As usual, he wanted to take a walk by himself despite the crowd on the street, and definitely both of us disallowed because he will be easily lost if we were to let him strolled in the mist of the massive crowd.. so as usual, he kicked up a fuss but it only took Mummy a while to pacify him and convinced him that its not wise to do so..He was happy in the end as he got to hold a set of "dui lian" (hope I have spelt this correctly, my hanyu pinyin skills deteriorated tremendously!) as we make our way back to PaPa's office carpark from the crowd..
