Goodbye 2006! Welcome 2007!

Today is New Year's Eve and Caden woke up this morning with a slight fever and bad cough (wonder how he caught this virus).. We couldn't reach Dr Sim and realised that he will be closed till 3rd Jan. PaPa had to borrow Kimi's cough syrup as our supply has ran out of stock.. Sigh.. hopefully Caden can recover within these 3 holidays.. PaPa is going to reservist for 3 weeks soon and Mummy will be so busy with her yearend reporting. Hopefully things will go smoothly.. Becos of Caden's fever, we are not able to go down to Esplanade this evening for the countdown.. but we can always do the same countdown at home too! (Anyway Caden was already sound asleep at the stroke of 12mn)

Caden turns 20 months old!

Caden finally turns 20 months old today! He had an enjoyable time at Downtown East with his cousins as GuGu's family were all on leave and brought him out together this morning. Caden has now learnt to appreciate and like "outside" food.. Grandma was commenting that he gobbled down 2 rice bowls of chicken porridge for lunch at Chatterbox this afternoon, and he also usually is able to finish half an egg prata by himself.. Caden has also attempting to self-feed on his own nowadays and hopefully he is able to pick up this skill quick so that Mummy can relax soon and eat in peace during meal times!

His fav stunt at home now, likes to hunt around for PaPa's car key!

Ripping presents Part 2

Tonight we decided to let Caden open all the presents received thus far although its not Boxing Day yet. We were too eager to get him play with the 2nd gift that we have bought for him, which is a set of clay mould (can promote imaginative play). PaPa was quite conscious that the clay residual gets stuck into Caden's little finger nails and kept asking Mummy to keep a close watch at his play..

Subsequently, Caden stopped playing and went ahead to rip off the rest of the presents under the tree. We have also received some educational items from Auntie Wendy and Huijuan, but ah boy doesn't seem to be at all interested..

Merry Christmas!

Our Christmas Eve

We spent this year's Christmas Eve together at home, with home-made fried rice for PaPa and yummy porridge for Caden. We have bought 2 presents for Caden this Christmas and decided to give him one of them tonight.. Caden was happy to tear apart the gift-wrap and even more excited to see the fishing game (in fact this is both Mummy and PaPa childhood game)!

Caden could have some recollection of how this is being played because he had played this with Uncle Shazli's son. Initially he found it hard to get the fish hooked onto the bait, so he tought of a brilliant idea to just stick the tip of the fishing rod into the fish's mouth !

Caden is in such a chirpy mood

Our first modelling assignment

Three of us have been invited by Auntie Winnie who is the Art director of Simply Her to take up a KIA Carens editorial spread. We were recommended by Winnie because KIA wants a real-life parents with a baby for the spread. We happily agreed to take up the assignment because we thought Caden will be the main focus. However, after receiving the email from Auntie Winnie, we realised that its more on Mummy and PaPa in the pictures to be taken rather than our ah boy.. but no choice lah, cannot back out last min cos already promised to help out for this spread.
Caden was very curious when Mummy was being painted by the makeup artist and hair done up by the stylist.. Mummy was not quite comfortable with the heavy makeup on her face and seeked Winnie's advice.. she also agreed that it looks kinda of heavy but reassured Mummy that when it gets published in the magazine, the pictures shd turn out ok.. (seriously speaking I think I looked like a ghost! haha)

Fortunately Caden was able to connect with another junior art director while both PaPa and mummy were being shot.. we were intially very worried that he will be so sticky to us as he refused to stay with Uncle Brian whose job on that day was to laugh at us and babysit for us..

The only shot with Caden in the car went very well despite the fact that its already past his nap time at ard 12plus at noon. Caden was so amused by the fashion stylist when he used the ball to pretend to hit the car.. The photographer has managed to capture his charming smiles!

Hopefully the photos will turn out well... generally it was a wonderful experience especially we have to change our outfits openly in the car when we were doing the outdoor shots!

Caden has been punished by Uncle Brian to sit on the mini director's chair while PaPa is preparing a shot with the crew.. look at his sad expression which he held it for as long as he was confined in the chair !

When the photo shoot is over, both Aidan and Caden were playing around the conference room while the crew runs through the day's shots..

Mummy's community Day

Mummy had done her first community work in name of Standchart bank on the 15th Dec. Our beneficiary is Metta School (where students with low intellectual disbility or Autism). Mummy was assigned to take care of a 11yr old gal for the whole day which was a very enriching experience. Her name is Shi ting, who is suffering from mild intellectual disability, with IQ range of 50-70. She is quite a chatty gal but Mummy cannot understand what she was trying to tell Mummy at some times.. I guess we need to show more love and attention to these children because somehow they seem to know that they are not able to connect with people easily. After this mission, Mummy realised how fortunate she is to be given with Caden, as there are so many unfortunate children around us.

Kindermusik Final Class

Caden has finally completed his holiday programme with Kindermusik today. He has attended a total of 5 lessons for the past sundays at 12pm which is not an ideal timing for him since this is usually his nap time. Hence Caden is usually restless and not participative towards the end of the lesson as he starts getting cranky because he will get very tired. PaPa and Mummy were generally happy with his progress in the class as he enjoyed himself with the company of other children happily during each lesson.

His favorite and most responsive segment was when the teacher sings," I roll the ball to Caden (she rolled to him), and Caden rolls the ball to me (then he will rolled back to her). " While the rest of the tods need their parent to help.. Some pictures painstakingly taken as Caden always get so distracted with one of us who was taking the photos..

Getting imaginative with a scarf, Caden likes to play peek-a-boo with it...

Usually Caden is one of the first few students who cannot wait to return the instruments back to teacher - likes to impress and be praised!

Playing with musical instruments

Time to listen to some animals sounds

Getting distractive and wondered off to play with PaPa

Xmas Photos Finally!

We brought Caden down to Orchard one more time this weekend to take more pictures for momento since most of the pictures taken last weekend didn't turn out well. This time round, we hang aroung the Scotts area as we found the entrance to Orchard road lightings enticing. It was really difficult to get a decent picture from the mass crowd moving to and fro the pavement and Caden also not being too co-operative as he was too busy watching the cars and lightings.

PaPa posing with Caden but he was busy watching the cars..

Even with this picture, he was still looking at the road.

Always unflattering self-taken portrait..

Finally more decent ones with him looking at the camera:

Caden was so exhausted and leaned on PaPa's shoulder after all the photo-taking and Mummy's shopping trip..

A walk down Orchard for Xmas Lightings

We decided to bring Caden down to Orchard to view the Xmas lightings along the Wisma to Centerpoint stretch this evening, we started with our dinner at Din Tai Feng in Wisma and Caden guai guai ate his Egg fried rice on his own while we enjoyed our dinner by his side. Caden has improved on his self-feeding skills nowadays which is a gd skill set as Mummy can now eat together with PaPa and Caden, instead of usually being the last to eat after feeding our dear boy full... Tonight he seems to enjoy the Dou Sa Bao most - I guess its because the bun is sweet..

After the dinner, we walked along the Wisma area perdestrant pavement and stopped by a few spots to take some pictures.. its really crowded, now that it is still almost 2 weeks away from Xmas! But subsequently because of a drizzle, we decided to make a U-turn back to Orchard Mrt because we do not want to risk the chance of being caught in the rain.. Caden was anyway already tired as he had leaned on PaPa's shoulder at times..

PaPa has not taken the picture well for Mummy and Caden.. so we are visiting this coming weekend again..
