The Animal Resort

Yesterday we finally had some time to bring Caden to the Animal Resort located at Seletar Farmway 4 near the Jalan Kayu's prata shop. The animal farm was only a 15mins drive from home. It is a small family set-up to keep interesting farm animals like goats, ponies, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, peacocks and some weird birds, etc.

Caden was quite courageous to point at the ponies and goats as Pa Pa carried him near to them. He had even reacted by "talking" to them in his own language.. however, when we head towards the peacocks and some strange big birds, Caden resisted and refused to be near them.. He had also recognised dogs as he kept saying "woof, woof" as we visited the dogs house..his favorites are also the rabbits as he wanted to touch them by putting his little fingers through the cage..

We felt its time to bring him to the zoo once again to expose him to more animals..

Caden's new haircut

We brought Caden to downstairs at the chin-na shop for his hair cut yesterday.. initially we wanted to bring him to the hair salon shop in Paragon for a really professional looking haircut.. that cost $16.. but we decided to save the money in the end and also Pa Pa is too lazy to drive us down to orchard as well... he fussed quite a bit while his hair was being cut and the little hair strands fell onto his face.. Mummy has to continuously feed him biscuits to distract him and keep him sitting there till the process is over..

Happy Birthday to Mummy!!!

Today is mummy's birthday. Mummy had wanted to take a day off from work but she needs to be in office to see through the last day of outstanding tasks from her staff who is also serving her last day in office. So no choice lah, she took half day instead to do some retail therapy and have a nice dinner with Pa Pa, before she returns home to see little Caden..

Caden was as usual, amazed with the lighted candles on mummy's birthday cake and smiled through the birthday song that Pa Pa had sang (he probably thinks its another round of his birthday celebration!! ) . Being usually greedy, he demanded to have some bites on the chocolate mousse cake from Baker's Inn and demanded even more after the first bite.. mummy had to distract him away with milk subsequently to avoid him taking too much of the sweet stuff..

Caden is sick...

Caden is down with a virus that makes him vomit after feed for 2 times on tuesday, moreover, he is also having diahorrea at the same time as well. Last night we brought him to Dr Sim and he said that its just a mild viral attack, as he doesn't equate this to stomach flu..

However, when we got home last night, after he has taken his medication and night milk feed, he threw out everything on our bed and subsequently we tried to feed him some milk again since he hasn't had proper food since 6pm. Again, he threw out the milk.. we decided to leave him as it is..

This morning, he drank his milk as usual and fell asleep thereafter, but when I tried to wake him up as we are leaving home, he started to vomit again. He kept crying for me as he vomit ,"Ma Ma, ma ma", I can feel that he was really feeling awful and unwell... it was so heart breaking for us to see him going through this..

So we took half day urgent leave to monitor his progress.. then Caden started to run a fever.. sigh.. he became very cranky, sticky to me.. and hunger for milk and water all the time.. it is the first time that he actually behaved so unwell when he's sick.. last few instances when he came down with fever/cough/running nose, he was always happily running around.. We hope that he will recover totally soon..

And Pa Pa has also just vomited tonight at 2am.. oh no.. mummy is so worried now..

Mummy's long nights..

This is thus far the worst period for mummy at work because she has been working very long hours in office for the whole of this week.. basically starting from 830-11pm.. without any time spent with Caden on nights as he has fallen into his slumberland by the time she is home.. Mummy can only grab hold of her time with Caden every morning by reading him a story, playing hide and seek and teaching him a new word for this week "door".

Mummy should have more bad days to come since she is currently being overloaded when her staff who has resigned is already half-hearted at her work.. henceforth making mummy's work life worse.. however, mummy's bosses (CFO and head of country finance) are very appreciative and motivating to her and has made her still going on strong at work so far..

Caden must learn to miss mummy's absence (Papa mentioned that he walks to the gate at time - seems to be looking out for my return) for time being.. and mummy hopes to have a more balanced work life soon.. if mummy can find her staff quickly..
