Face injury

On Monday night, we came home and found our ah boy injured with lotsa of angry scratches on his right cheek. Asked his granny what has happened, she doesnt know the reason, asked the maid, she also insisted she doesn't know why. Asked his good buddy cousin, Kimi, whether she bullied Caden again, she said no.. so we gathered that it must be the maid as she may be too afraid to admit..

Subsequently, we found another culprit which may have caused his injuries, the VCD cover holder. Caden usually likes to play with the VCD cover holder and probably the sharp corners have caused the scratches on his cheek. But still the mystery remains unsolved.. to date, the scratches are gone, but the big red bruise is still present..

Mr and Mrs Law's Wedding

We are happy to attend Glory's and Michael's wedding function held today. Mummy was in a rush to cook Caden's porridge and pack his barang barang till the camera was forgotten. And coincidentally, Huijuan's camera's battery went flat after the first few clicks.. so no photos taken during the wedding to share for this posting.

Caden behaved well generally throughout the wedding function, finishing his bowl of porridge, allowing Pa Pa and Mummy to eat most of the food in peace (with biscuits as the distractions..) but he enjoyed himself most when he was given the freedom to walk around the ballroom.. looking at himself in the big mirror, walking to the next table full of strangers, chasing other toddlers and children. We think he had a great time at the function, was cheerful and participative when the "Yum Seng" was conducted (Ryan gor gor actually got horrified with the cheers till he cried so badly!!!!!), he even clapped when he saw the guest clapping to welcome the bride and the groom during the march-in. He was exploring a great deal on his own, at times, got "abducted" by the groom, Uncle Michael.

Back home, perhaps the happy mood lingers as he was still playing happily. The hectic afternoon tired him out as he fell asleep in a short time tonight.. hopefully he doesn't suffer from night terrors later due to over-stimulation today.. otherwise, there goes my beauty sleep..

Anyways, both Papa and Mummy are happy to see Glory and Michael starting their union life together from today, and waiting for them to have a baby soon to increase Caden's social circle of friends..

Catching up..

My staff has just tendered her resignation with the bank yesterday and her last day will be my birthday next month. I know that as a result, I will not have much time spent at home on weekdays, and possibly on weekends as well as I need to double-hat while sourcing for a replacement and overseeing half year reporting. Worse thing is my boss just integrated another function into my reporting team n thus, will have to triple-hat for as long as another 2 new joiners come.

As a result, although there are still lots of work to be done (cos my boss on block leave-clearing my work and his work!!), I'll try to make it a point to leave office early by 730pm, if need be, bring back some materials that I need to catch up home. Reason being, I know that I am going to be home late during the month of July, and may not get to see my son during weekdays as he will sleep by the time I have reached home. These 2 weeks are the best time to catch up with Caden as much as possible. I just want to catch each new moments that he has learnt in everyday (today he said apple when he wanted to eat a slice) so that I will not get to miss out too much when i'll be busy next month. Hopefully I am really able to get the replacement really soon so that the hectic life will be back to normal soon..

Caden's first assignment

Caden has been assigned to jump/roll on Uncle Michael and Aunty Glory's new bed today as they are getting married next saturday. Mummy forgot to warn Aunty Glory not to expect too much out of him on the bed as he is still of an age when he likes to do things in his own way.

We reached the going-to-wed couple's place ard 2pm, right after Caden's lunch. Very nice environment, Papa was already drooling over the bikini babes at the poolside when we arrived at the carpark and can't wait to get to swim with them (taking ah boy as an excuse !!! ). Caden doesn't seem to like swimming anymore as he kept clinging on the papa in the pool. We brought him out of the pool after abt 10mins and decided to let him walk ard the pool instead. Both Papa and mummy realised that uncle michael seems to like children alot and decided to let him babysit during our stay there.. kekeke...

When its time to roll on the new bed, we had to take his biscuits and bun and place them onto the bed so that he will crawl around to reach for it.. after the "ceremony" has ended, Aunty Glory gave Caden an angbao for his services. Wah, if only we have more of this lobang then his education fund can grow faster..Caden seems to have a fun time playing ard the house after he has warmed up and walk ard and play with uncle michael..

Uncle michael bringing him up to the bed for a second time to fully utilise Caden's presence on the bed..

Caden, feeling more at ease with uncle michael's company..

Black rainy sunday

It was raining since this morning when we woke up, first thing on my mind is there goes the botanical gardens plan and shopping trip.. My hubby told to wait till after lunch and decide if I still want to go ahead with the shopping (to get something to wear for my very good friend's wedding on the 24th!!). But the sky was super duper dark around noon and started pouring so heavily like nobody's business at 1pm!!! I then told daddy to call off all plans and sleep at home instead.

Caden is walking more at home today, basically only 10% of his time is spent on creeping. We think this is a natural progression, and he even attempted to kick the ball while I was playing ball with him. Wonder what other tricks can he come up with by next week..

Crying for 'bao bao" when he was stuck in the exersaucer which he climbed in himself..

First Shopping trip

No, of course today is not his first day to shop out of his house, its just the first time that Pa Pa and mummy allow Caden to walk around the shopping mall (Compass Point) when mummy is looking to make her spectacles..

Caden was so happy and excited to be walking around the mall for the first time as he kept talking and laughing as he roamed. Mummy decided to settle for one of the optical shops after looking through the specs collections from most of the shops there. As mummy is selecting her specs, Caden was restless in the optical shop and started to be cranky.. Papa had no choice but to bring him out of the shop for a walk. After some time (mummy was done with eye diagnosis and going to settle bill) Papa came back with tons of complaints abt our little darling.. saying that he refused to be carried and wanted to explore on his own, creep ard the floor, when Papa lifted him up, he cried.. rolled himself on the floor.. etc,etc.. sounded quite a nightmare huh??

Tomorow we will attempt to bring him to botanical gardens since now he loves to walk and roam around so much. It should be a child safe place for him to practise walking.. if the weather permits that is..

Cruising around

Caden has finally picked up his confidence to walk around the house this week. 3 weeks back, he has started his first steps hands-free, walking at home, before we left for our holiday. Last night, he was happily walking around at home, bending down to pick up ball, stood up and threw the ball, and walking towards the ball. And he did this for abt 3 mins.. its good to see him being more confident in his steps taken but at the same time, we love to let him creep more as it stimulates the mid brain development.

Extracting from Glenn Doman's forum, "Creeping develops the midbrain which helps develop the convergence of the eyes at arm's length which helps the child to read better, have better vision and longer attention span, which in turns lead the child to become sharp and focused. The cross patterning structures the brain so that one part of the brain becomes dominant for the brain to function efficiently."

Anyway, all this while, we have not been pressuring Caden to learn walking as we strongly believe that a child will know what to do when he's ready for it..
