Singing

Ethan has recently started to sing nursery songs at home, especially ba ba black sleep, ABC, early in the morning as we get ourselves ready for work and rushing Caden for school.. our dear boy has always cheered us with his sweet voice through these songs he learnt in school. Ethan has also started to request to sleep in our room at nights (instead of sarong) and had learnt to fall into his sleep easily without too much of our attention in the room.. We heard from Mum that Ethan is the only boy in his class to continue with his cries in school while his rest of the classmates have already settled in the morning routine. Hopefully things will start to improve this coming week.

Hollywood Dinos

The Hollywood Dinos have been on exhibit since Dec and will run till mid-Feb (at Jurong bird park). Today, we finally got the chance to see the Dinosaurs through the discounted tickets from SCB recreation club. We had Auntie Peggy, Samuel, Uncle Colin and Emma for company. Emma was tearing at the beginning of the journey as the Dinosaurs were big and roaring loud.. (good special effects). Caden was fine initially, as Sam is there being the big bro to the rest, led the pack going.. till when we reached this cave with rocking bridge, dino roars and light effects, Caden refused to go into the cave. So I had to bring him via a shortcut to meet the rest at the exit of the exciting cave. Emma was warmed up eventually when we visited this booth which showed us how the Dinosaurs were being operated (to move and blink and open its mouth). Caden was also warmed up and went with Sam to touch the Dinos.. Ethan being the youngest in the pack, probably not knowing how terrifying these Dinos are, were so happy touching them. The kids each got themselves a souvenir each from the shop at the end of the journey and happily played with them while we eat lunch at Burger Bingo..

Overall, it's quite a refreshing experience..

Zoo trip - kidzworld

We got free tickets to the Zoo, thanks to PaPa. It has been quite a long time since we last went to the Zoo (think the last time was 1.5 years ago during Ethan's 1st birthday). Caden and Ethan were very excited on our way there after our prata breakfast this morning.

The kids were treated with rainforest show once we get into the park. Thereafter we went on to watch the splash safari show at 11am. Then we changed the kids into their swimsuit as they enjoyed happily in the newly opened wet play at Kidzworld. This is like a big water playground for the kids with very shallow water level - hence Ethan was so daring during the play period and stood under the water splashes most of the times. Caden had a good time using the water guns stations controlling the splashes and they were out on their own for almost an hour before Mummy gets burnt by the hot sun watching over them.

they were so engrossed in watching the animals performed

this is the water playground where they played on their own for almost an hour

they simply love talking to these goats

Ethan went ahead and started to touch these goats!

fascinated with the big-nosed monkey

by 3pm, Ethan has shown signs of tiredness...

We ended our Zoo trip with Jen and Berry's ice-cream outside the exit while the kids were at the same time busy with their hot wheels toys gotten from their KFC lunch... PaPa and Mummy got themselves treated with Coke in the car as we drive back home when Ethan fell asleep shortly after his milk feed in the car..

First day of School

Today is the first day of school for Ethan at Tots House and we thought things will go smoothly for him since he has always been very sociable towards strangers. But Mum told us that he actually cried at the beginning upon seeing one of his classmates cried who in turn caused other toddlers to cry as well. In fact he needed my mum-in-law to stay with him throughout the whole session till they break from school. Luckily it was only 1.5 hours session for Ethan daily and we hope he will quickly adapt to this new environment soon.

We had too high hopes for Ethan till both Mum and Dad did not even consider taking the morning off to see through this experience with Ethan...

Caden on the other hand was happy to see his classmates back in his kindergarten today and called me twice today to tell me his new teacher's name...

Fishing adventure at Yishun

We went to this fishing village at Bottle Tree Park (near Yishun/Sembawang) to celebrate Emma's 6th birthday at the same time. It's the first time Ethan got to see children do fishing in the mini pond and Caden may have probably done a similar thing during his outfield trip (at Pasir ris fish farm) with his kindergarten last year.

Ethan was very courageous and keen to go into the pond to catch his first fish. Caden was quite scared and we had to encourage him to make the first step into the water. In fact, I have asked Kimi to guide Caden into the water and bring him around the pond to do fishing. After some time both of them got the hang and started to enjoy fishing under the hot sun this afternoon.
