Mahjong Prince in the making?

Last night as I was watching Caden play with Kimi's masak masak food toys in the container after my dinner, he reminded me of our fav hobby that my ah man and I used to do in the past.. Mahjong!! He was using both of his hands to "wash" the toys in such a manner that it is exactly the same way that we "wash" our tiles during a mahjong game.. hmm.. perhaps, he has inherited our mahjong genes?? To me, it also seems that he's frustrated with seeing the toys packed neatly in the container, he sees a joy in messing them up!!!

Hot air blowing..

Every morning as I prepare myself for work, I'll usually need to use the hair dryer to blow dry and style my hair to keep it in place.. If Caden is awake, he'll usually look at me using this electronic device and wondering what's the object that's making mummy's hair flying around.. I will tease him by using the hair dryer and blow at his hair and the hot air usually makes him crawling away..

Sometimes in the nights before I sleep, I will also need to use the dryer to blow dry my hair and again, he will stand near me in his cot waiting to be blown.. then again, I'll use the dryer to start blowing in his direction and he will quickly hide away from the hot air.. I believe he finds a lot of joy running away from the dryer as such, he will be excited nowadays seeing me picking up the hair dryer...

First Trip to the Zoo

Finally, we have decided to set a date to bring Caden to his first Zoo trip yesterday.. the weather doesn't look too good on our way there and he also dozed off along the journey for his afternoon nap.. nonetheless, we woke him up and went ahead with the trip.. after we have checked into the zoo, it started to drizzled!!! Pa Pa has to quickly make his way to pick up the brolly from the car while I carried Caden to see see look look the Zoo's souvenirs shop with lots of animal soft toys.. Caden reacted to those cute little monkeys and elephants and spoke to them..

The drizzle was short, thankfully.. we continued our journey and showed him monkeys (had a close encounter), penguins (which he seems to like best, cos he reacted to them as well), parrots, elephants, cows, deers, rams, lions, tigers and polar bears.. although most of the time he was grouchy cos he was trying to catch his afternoon nap, and the children around him seems to catch his attention more than the animals.. but we think that its a good start to introduce animals to him.. probably we will bring Caden to the Zoo again when he's abt 16mths old..

Shadow, Shadow, who are you?

For the past few nights, Caden has been amused by the shadows which has been casted onto the bedroom wall while we are trying to put him to sleep after his milk feed. Usually, we will switch off the lights and play his bedtime vcd music to make the environment conducive for him to fall asleep after his milk feed.. but lately, his high abundance of energy has led him to be actively climbing up to the headboard of the bed and retrieve the stuff which has been placed on the latch.. then he realised his shadow which was been reflected on the wall and thinking that its another moving object which is "playing" with him as he moves simultaneously, he got so hyped up and amused and pat onto the shadow showing his excitement.. I have also added on to his joy by casting a bunny shadow onto the wall moving towards him and he reacted by trying to pat onto this black patch of moving object as well.. when will he get to realise that its actually his own shadow that he's playing with??? Only time will tell...

A homely weekend

We have decided to spend our weekend lazing around the house after a tired workweek I had. Mornings are as usual, after milk feed at 7am, he will remain in his cot, playing by himself while daddy tries to catch on more of his sleep.. then subsequently after his morning shower, I decided to let Caden feed some little pieces of bread by himself.. he was trying to use his index and thumb to grab hold of the the bread but some attempts failed as he dropped onto his seat while trying to put it into his mouth..

Usually he will take 2 long naps in the day, that's when we are able to cook porridge, watch some dvds, read papers, etc.. and this sat was good cos he napped 2.5hrs in the morning and another 2 hours in the afternoon.. but when he's up and alert after nap, he will have abundance of energy to crawl around the house.. that's when our stamina is being put to test..

Laughing out loud..

Recently I realised that Caden is not as vocal as other babies whom I have met during the chinese new year gatherings.. I have concluded that probably baby gals developed their speech much faster than baby boys so I wasn't that worried yet. Last night, we went home at a later time to pick him up from grandma and found a change in him.. he was laughing aloud.. usually he will only smile and wave his hands vigorously to welcome us.. its such a joy seeing him in such a happy mood..

Daddy played with him in the cot after his milk feed at 9.20pm, he was again laughing hilarously when Daddy throwed his hanky on his face.. Subsequently, both of us are too tired to keep him occupied and decided to switch off all lights and see if he can fall asleep by himself while both of us pretend to be lying on the bed next to him asleep (Daddy was already sound asleep by the time Caden fell asleep by himself). This is one of the occasional few nights that we placed him on the cot awake for him to fall asleep by himself..

Caden has been Potty-trained!

Caden has been potty trained for the last one month, and finally whenever he makes the "MMM" sounds, grandma will get the potty and make him sit on it for his business.. on weekends, we tried this for him as well and we succeeded! so funny to watch him sitting on the potty doing his business.. he looks like a little adult on his little potty.. so proud of him being able to do so, to save all the money on diapers!!!
