Home alone

Tonight PaPa has an army mate's wedding dinner to attend at Le Meridian. When it comes to army mate's wedding dinner, the family is usually not invited. Hence Mummy has to stay home together with Caden. Mummy has been worried that she is not able to cope due to her medical condition but she reassures PaPa that he can still go ahead but on the condition that he's on the urgent standby.

It didn't turn out to be too strenuous for mummy to handle Caden, what I have done is to bring put his favourite toys and role-play with him, got him to drink some milk, read some books and the time passed quickly. Luckily for the last 2 weeks, I have trained him to sleep on his own (ie, without my physical company by his side on the bed), I managed to set myself free by 915pm! He had a good time with me nontheless but he is aware that PaPa is not around as he kept asking where is PaPa!

Our car rides

Its getting more difficult to entertain little Caden during the car rides lately as Mummy has exhausted all her ideas in keeping him occupied in every car ride session. Lately we found a barney sunglasses that he received as one of the party pack goodies and it kept him busy enough for the last one week.

Here are a series of photos that he has asked me to take :

"Ain't I handsome with these sunglasses?"

This noon

Mummy has been scheduled to see Dr Cheng this morning but the wait and treatment session is usually long hence we only managed to leave the hospital only at noon. After lunch, the journey home was too long till both Caden and tired Mummy dozed off comfortably in the car. PaPa took the opportunity to take this shot as Mummy don't usually sleep during car rides!

Baby no 2 Scan results

Today we went to Dr Cheng for my 4th treatment within these 2 weeks (still have 4 more to go). For each session, Mummy has to go through 2 painful injections to stabilise baby no 2, plus tons of medicine to sustain the condition to protect the little life.. The foetus has shown growth during each scan and PaPa was always happy to see the little heart pumping away in the monitor. We are glad that finally my condition has stabilised to date and Mummy is now ready to go back to work on Monday. The baby is officially 7 weeks old and another 6 more weeks to go, Mummy will pass the first trimester test!

Mummy's thoughts

Mummy has had a tough 1 week roller coaster ride recently because her health condition is not looking too good. As a result, she has to stop work immediately starting this Wed till next week and was advised to be on complete bed rest in order not to complicate her condition further. Doc has also advised her not to carry heavy things and hence the usual cuddling of little Caden had to be stopped as well. PaPa has been unusally busy this week through ferrying Caden from mum's place and dinner for mummy at home and coaxing our little monster to sleep each night. Caden is still not aware of mummy's condition and pleads to have her attention each night when he sees her at home. Hopefully the Doc's appt tomorrow will show a brighter sign of mummy's route to recovery.

Mummy has recently discussed this with a close colleague of hers and felt that this statement should always be registered in her mind. No one will remember how good a worker you are but everyone will get to see how bad a mother you are if you neglect your children due to work commitments. I think by the time we grow old and look back on our lives, I hope I won't regret some of the choices that we have made for our children along the way. With that being said, although it is still true that we shd be responsible in our daily work commitments, but on the other hand, since you have decided to have children of your own, there should also be a reasonable amount of quality time that you shd spend with the children.. Currently with Caden, we are still coping well, and hopefully we will continue to do so even with a second child..
