Missing Caden

We are finally back from our short trip to HongKong. Though we are equally exhausted overseas through tons of walking/shopping/playing at Disney, at the same time, we missed our ah boy every day. We tried to call home to check on his well-being and also let him hear our voices in case he missed us(but according to his grandma, he doesn't seem to feel our absence!!!).

This morning when he woke up from his usual night sleep, he greeted us with joy and mischief. Kept slapping our faces when he was on the bed when both of us are still entirely knocked-out from the wee-hours flight. But nonetheless, both ourselves still brace up to spend time with him enjoyably today. We couldn't wait to show him those toys that we bought each day in HongKong for him.. he has since become more vocal and even walked a few steps with more confidence. He is at his usual self which made us feel so intolerable with his behavior. But nevertheless, we love him the same..

His Daily Routine

I have been spending 24/7 with my son for the past 3 days since I started my block leave on Wednesday. It is not easy being a full time mummy with aspirations to play and teach him values as well as exposing him to words at the same time. His daily routine goes like this:-

6-7am Wakes up for his morning milk feed
745am Mummy brings him down for a morning stroll
830am Back home for shower
9am Watching Barney shows while mummy busy preparing his breakfast
930am Finishes his breakfast and plays with his toys
10am Milk feed and mummy pats him to sleep (usually in 30mins)

12pm Wakes up from nap and plays around while mummy quickly gulps down her lunch
1245pm Feeding him porridge
1-230pm Mummy spends time playing and flashing cards with him
3pm Milk feed and mummy can spend up to one hour patting him to sleep !!

5pm Wakes up from his nap and watches his fav Hi-5 shows on tv
6pm After his shower, mummy feeds him his dinner-porridge again..
7pm Leaves home to GuGu's house for dinner (mummy and Papa's dinner)
9pm Reaches home again from GuGu's house and plays staking toys and read his bedtime stories
930pm Milk feed and tosses n turns himself to sleep..

Its bearly only 3 days and I seem to be tired from exhaustion.. wonder how my mil has been coping with him and his cousins all these while.. or is it because I set too high expectations on myself to make his days spent more enriching? I think maybe its really not easy being an effective SAHM, everyone can be a SAHM, but whether can one be a good and fulfilling SAHM is another issue.. But then again, being able to spend this much time with my son after being tied down by work since I returned to office from maternity leave is truly treasured... No matter how mentally and physically exhausting, its really worth it..

Mummy on leave !!!

These few days, mummy is clearing her block leave ( insisted by her company ). So she's at home "bonding" with Caden. Caden can be quite naughty and adorable at the same time.

He also knows how to "fake" crying, with his eyes and mouth closed ..... this is the trick he uses to get what he wants. And usually after he gets it, his "crying" will turn into a smile/laughter straight-away.

Mummy is spending time with Caden and hope that she doesn't get too "angry" with him.

Mummy and Papa is going on a short trip soon without Caden. Guess both Mummy and Papa "deep" down inside will miss him a lot but we know he'll be well taken care by his grandma.

We'll wait for him to be older before bringing him along for holidays .....

Happy Mother's Day !!

Today is Mother's Day but I woke up having to clean up my son's shit as Pa Pa cannot bring himself to wake up due to late night spent watching his FA Cup finals. In the end, Mummy ended up doing more tasks as usual and even cook up a nice breakfast for the 2 kings in the house..

Caden has recently started to be more vocal, taking our handphones to place it near his ear and mouthed out a word like "hello", and said words like open, there, ball, Mama, Papa.. I think he really means it when he calls out mama and papa..

He has also seems to be closer to his GuGu and Gu Zhang's family, with his cousins Samuel and Kimi and definitely Grandma.. As such, we decided to book a short trip to HongKong to take a short break next week for 4 days. This is because we felt that he will be well taken care and may not know our absence since he has got so much company there at Gu Gu's house. Let's wait and see...

Bad bed fall..

In the wee hours of this morning, Caden has fussed in his sleep as usual, and Papa carried him out of his cot onto our bed so that he will fall back into sleep.. Usually he will toss and turn on our bed till a spot which he will settle.. this morning, I turned to where he has settled, at the end of our bed and slept next to him.. but because I had not shifted Caden into a safer spot and fell back asleep myself.. the next thing that happened was that we heard a very loud bang. Then Papa and myself found Caden face down on the floor!!! He cried so badly from his fall but I managed to coaxed him back to sleep.. still feeling guilty over the whole incident..

First Sentosa Trip

On May day (1st of May), we decided to tag along with Caden's GuGu to Sentosa to chill out in the morning. It was an impromptu decision but I can tell that Papa is dying to go after missing in action from the beach since I got pregnant..

Caden took a short nap in the car on our way to Sentosa and he was too blur to enjoy when we first reached. Nontheless, he began to warm up quickly and enjoyed playing with the sand and be amazed with the seawater running up to the shore. I think we must bring him more often to the beach before his didi or mei mei comes along in future...
