We set off our place at 740am in the morning, making buffer of about 2 hours for the travel from North-East to Tuas checkpoint (which took us almost an hour due to morning traffic) and another hour to clear the customs. There was quite a long queue at the Tuas checkpoint and it really took us almost an hour to clear both Tuas and JB customs.
The route to Legoland beyond JB toll point was fairly straightforward. It was a straight road and all we did was to look out for the road sign - Legoland!(exit 32, Nusajaya).
The hotel parking lots in the hotel were very limited, there were no lots for us by the time we reached there near 10am and had to do a temporary parking parallel to one of the parked car. (luckily we managed to move to a proper parking lot later in the evening).
The park was promptly opened at 10am. Surprising, the crowd was not as many, probably because of the dark-casted sky in the morning. Nonetheless, we had to proceed with the plan since we already had bought the tickets via online booking earlier at home.
We did a quick research on some blog entries and was told that the Driving School and Boating School takes a while to queue, so it will be good to hit these 2 ride attractions first once you get into the park. So we headed to them first (which was quite close to the entrance) right after we got into the park.
The boys had been given some basic lessons on traffic rules prior to the actual drive, and hence it really took them some time before they can hit the roads with those Lego cars.
The rides we took -
(A) Lego City:
1) Driving School
Caden looked like those law-abiding conscious driver while Ethan was looking to bump into his brother from the back anytime!
mini-collision between the cars |
and Ethan finally hit a hard one on his bro's car at the end (with everyone laughing) |
we kept ourselves occupied with picture taking |
2) Boating School
The wait for the boat ride was much faster, it was only approximately 5 minutes wait (probably its still early in the day)
Caden felt that it was much harder than it looked. He had quite a hard time trying to steer into the right directions.
Ethan started later than our boat but was fast enough to catch up and stayed close behind us (to crash us from the back!)
Here he comes... (with his cheeky look)
3) Lego Rescue Academy
This station did not have any person in the queue. We didn't know how this will be played so we gave it a go.. and we totally regretted after getting onto the fire truck (it's like point of no return)
We had to exert all our energy to pump the pulley to make the fire truck move forward. Upon the destination, we had to pump again so the water jets can work to 'put out' the fire. Thereafter, we had to pump the pulley in the truck again to bring the fire truck back to the starting point! We were totally exhausted and perspiring badly with these strenuous task under the hot scotching sun...
The water play is something my boys had done in Baby Boss Taipei so this didn't turn out to be too exciting for them. What looked bad was that the attendant in charge of this station was literally laughing to himself as he spoke on the microphone to guide us on what to do - it really felt like it was silly enough for us to attempt this task!
And worse.. 2 families actually decided to take part in this after watching we did!
a lot of strength has to be exerted to make the truck move forward |
that was the water spray that we had to worked hard for |
(B) Land of Adventure
1) Lost Kingdom
This ride was fun, unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures in the venue but it is a must-go for young kids like ours (it's a shoot-out game like the Buzz Lightyear station in Disney land)
2) Beetle Bounce - a child's play so Mummy opted out
this is something caden took in Goldcoast Movie world |
It moved all the way up to the top |
and came down gradually through bouncing up and down |
(C) Imagination
1) Build and Test
As the sun continued to shine hard on us, with lots of footwork, we were quite exhausted and decided to take refuge in Build and Test first since the 4-D movie will only be screened in the next 30 minutes.
In this place, the kids can build their own vehicle (with loaned wheels) and do a racing with the rest of the kids' cars. So the boys had quite a good time building their cars and making modifications to the cars to see how can it race faster..
Getting their cars in the start line |
executing the button to start the race |
Caden rushed to the finishing point to check out who won |
The race went on and on after changing their parts |
After the 4-D shows (we watched Spell-breaker and Lego Chima), we had lunch at the Pizza Mania (the food was good and value for money), Ethan asked to go back to Build and Test house again. This time round, they tried building their towers and see if it can withstand the 'earthquake rock'.
This Build and Test place is a good venue to hide from the heat and rest our feet..
Lego Kingdom
1) The Dragon
The boys went to do the roller-coaster game and had a few rounds, while I continue to seek shelter in the lego shop to cool myself down..
we kept ourselves cool with cold drinks and ice-cream |
Lego Technic
1) Project X
Ethan couldn't meet the height requirement so only PaPa and Caden took this ride. Apparently it was quite exciting and better than the Dragon
they went 2 rounds |
While waiting for his brother to finish the Project X ride, Ethan was eyeing on the red cow on one of the stalls (pay 10 MYR per game, per pax) and asked his dad to sponsor the games. We had to spend in total 40 MYR in exchange for a small red cow plush toy
They had to aim for the target to make the monkey move up |
2) Aquazone Wave Racers
The boys enjoyed this high-speed ride thoroughly..
queue was not too long |
Caden was riding a unit by himself |
Ethan enjoyed himself totally on this ride |
3) Technic Twister - we did this ride too - it's like a teacup spin in USS
After covering Lego Technic, we were close to the entrance where all the lego shops are. So the boys asked to go to the shop to see see look look first, although we totally understand their hidden agendas. It's a pity that the minecraft sets were out of stock
so many varieties in the store |
This brick shop sells loose parts by size of the plastic bag.. and also allows you to make your own lego figures
happy faces after spending almost 400 MYR! |
Both Ethan and Caden were complaining about their sore feet and asked to check into the hotel room by 430pm. We didn't cover the Miniland and the LEGOLAND Express train so it was a pity. Honestly the adults (us) were also exhausted with the walking and the heat and agreed that we should call it a day at the park.
last pictures before we leave |
The check-in was pretty efficient and fast, we didn't have to wait for too long. The kids were fairly occupied with the lego blocks made available all over the lobby area and before they get bored, we were done with the check-in procedure.
With the SGD 300 over price tag per night, the room was quite good. It has a bunk bed that can sleep 3 and a kind sized bed on the other section of the room. Our room is Premium Adventure themed so this in this décor:
the beds are comfortable |
kids' owned tv set |
adult's tv set |
There's a treasure box to be explored but we have to solve a questionnaire first to get the code to the lock...
And these are the presents in the treasure box
Plus extra set made available in the room for additional play. They also provide kids' bedroom slippers upon request.
Ethan attempted to build his own set straight after his shower |
the famous disco lift in the hotel |
many activities at the lobby |
Various views
view from our room |
view from Legoland on the hotel |
Overall, the stay was pleasant. The weather was the negative factor in this trip. I guess it will be equally unbearable if we were to do an outdoor activity on the same day back in SG. I may not want to do a revisit to this park so soon again, unless there are attractive promotions to both the land and water parks in the future. I am glad that the kids enjoyed this trip wholeheartedly...
